Rosebank property is divided into three distinct suburban areas. The first stretches from west of the railway line to Rhodes Drive and Woolsack Avenue and north to Wolmunster Avenue. The middle portion, which is commonly known as Rosebank Village is east of the railway line to Liesbeek Parkway and north to Durban Road.

The last pocket is east of Liesbeek Parkway to Rondebosch Common and is bordered by Park and Klipfontein Roads. This is known as Rosebank "Proper" and is often mistakenly considered the full extent of Rosebank property.

Rosebank real estate above the "line" is largely made up of student residences. The University of Cape Town has bought up hotels, apartment blocks and homes as well as building residences to house staff and students.

This area is an academic and student hub and Rosebank properties are sought after as an investment for parents of students. The Baxter Theatre and Middle Campus fall in this area. It is the final stretch of the Jammie Shuttle bus run to the University campus The train line from the Cape Town property area to the Simonstown property area runs through Rosebank station.

The Rosebank village has quaint semi detached cottages and free standing homes which are of Victorian, Cape Dutch and Edwardian architecture. The roads are narrow and often one -way only.

Rosebank "proper" boasts beautiful Victorian homes which gives this area its unique character. Because of its proximity to schools, university, medical schools, hospitals and sporting amenities families move reluctantly and only when buying smaller homes. In the early evening there is a migration of families and dogs to the Green to play, socialise and exercise their pets.

More serious athletes can be seen running around the circumference of the Rondebosch Common. The Common is valued for the wide variety of fynbos (indigenous flora), bird watching, kite flying, jogging, running and space to exercise large dogs.

The neighbourhood allows quick access to the freeways and a ten minute commute to both the Cape Town International Airport and Cape Town Central Business District. The highway offers quick access to the Northern suburbs.

There is a tempting selection of eateries such as The Greek, Curry Quest, Bruegels, The Fat Cactus and Chai Yo in walking distance on Klipfontein Road. The active participation of residents in the Neighbourhood Watch, the bicycle patrol and our own daily Web and email service makes the Rosebank property a safe investment.
