In the late 1800s it became a regular custom of Cape Town residents of means to move to a Green Point property for the hot weather season. The more affluent built summer retreats of their own and as the days grew warmer these prosperous townsfolk would prepare for the move round to the other side of Signal Hill. These summer places were shut up throughout the winter and each season they had to be equipped again. Such is the basic message taken from under Lion's Head by Marischal Murray and his esteem for the area is well founded. Green Point is one of the prime areas for property in Cape Town.

Thus Green Point became the unique suburb that it is today and the host to the 2010 World Cup Soccer! The vibrant hub of Green Point real estate with its coffee shops, delis and restaurants, is within strolling distance of the new urban parkland, Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and the newly landscaped Metropolitan Golf Course. These facilities are all available to the local community, together with the neighbourhood's world famous stadium.

Now a delightfully upgraded and greened suburb, the Green Point ‘village' is one of an elite few featuring Victorian cottages and terrace houses. Moving on up the slopes of Signal Hill the area has, over the years, developed into a sought after suburb with up-market houses. Many of these are in possession of superb sea and harbour views.

Green Point properties have the benefit of an excellent private school for little ones, in the early stages of their education, progressing up to the higher grades and well within easy distance to co-educational state schooling.

Complemented by the Atlantic Seaboard suburbs of Three Anchor Bay and Sea Point through to Clifton and Camps Bay, Green Point is in close proximity to white sandy beaches, shops, boutiques and the Sea Point pavilion with its Olympic size salt water pool. Walk through the urban parkland to Mouille Point and the brick paved promenade to enjoy the fresh air. Other attractions, from paragliding to water sports, provide recreational entertainment to both local residents and holiday makers. The suburb has the added advantage of being relatively sheltered from the Cape Summer winds.

Being a central hub to many attractions in Cape Town and in close proximity to Cape Town's CBD with easy access to surrounding areas, highways and arterial road system, a Green Point property is something to be desired!
