_Reaching new heights - The Royal Atlantis Residences

The Royal Atlantis Resort & Residences has reached a significant construction milestone, as it lifts its much-anticipated Skybridge, and the framework for one of the world’s biggest suites into place.
December 04, 2018

Uniting the residential and the hotel elements of The Royal Atlantis property, the three-story-tall Skybridge, weighed in at just over 1,400 tonnes (about one-tenth as heavy as The Eiffel Tower) took 24-hours to lift and install.

The Skybridge will house one of the resort’s six Signature Suites, the Royal Bridge Penthouse. At 17,000 square feet (1,579 square metres), this three-bedroom, two storey luxury suite will be one of the biggest in the world, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows offering incomparable views of The Palm and the Arabian Gulf. Guests can also enjoy an eight-seat cinema room complete with a bar, a private library, water features, a lounge area with a fireplace and a large 8 metre swimming pool complete with a sunken Majlis and Jacuzzi.

The resort will top out at 185 metres on the 43rd floor and the residences will top out at 165 metres on the 38th floor. In addition, the property will span approximately 500 metres wide and 40 metres in depth.

"Throughout the building, over 90,000-square-feet (8,361 square metres) of glass has been used – enough to cover 10 FIFA football fields."

Atop the Skybridge is the infinity Sky Pool, floating at 96 metres from the ground up, guests can gaze down on the glittering Dubai skyline from the 22nd floor of the property. With floating beds, private plunge pools and luxury cabanas, residents and guests can listen to the sound of a live DJ, drink and dine at a selection of bars and restaurants, including the world-renowned restaurant, lounge and nightlife brand, Hakkasan. The space itself has been meticulously designed, featuring unique architectural elements to help the space transition from a relaxing day-time destination to a sophisticated nightlife spot that will redefine entertainment in Dubai.

Designed by master architects Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF), the 43 storeys high Royal Atlantis Resort & Residences will rise 185 metres above sea level. The property will be comprised of 795 guest rooms and suites and 231 luxury apartments, offering two, three, four and five-bedroom residences ranging from 1,400 to 17,000 square feet (130 to 1,579 square metres).
