The jewel in the crown at Kalk Bay's The Majestic comes up for sale

30 November 2012

Ed Kok and Callie Porter of Anne Porter Knight Frank have secured a mandate to sell a home in the successful The Majestic development at Kalk Bay.  This home, says Kok, can probably lay claim to being the jewel in the project’s crown - “a clichéd phrase but one which adequately sums up all the home has to offer”.

The one level apartment, says Kok, has a floor area of 245m2 and is, therefore, one of the largest units in The Majestic redevelopment.  It has three bedrooms, all en suite, an ultra-modern kitchen (fitted out in farmhouse style), a linked dining/living area and, perhaps the best feature of all, an extensive verandah suitable for outdoor dining and entertaining, with views across the fishing harbour, where, says Porter, there is always some interesting activity to watch.
Finishes throughout the home are very definitely in the luxury category.  Floors in both the living and kitchen areas are solid wood, glazed French doors lead to the outdoor areas and travertine tiles are laid in the bathrooms.
“This home,” says Kok, “can rival the best that Clifton, Fresnaye and Camps Bay have to offer.  At a price of R7,8 million it is coming onto the market far lower than similar top-of-the-range homes on the Atlantic Seaboard.  Furthermore, being part of The Majestic project, it enjoys A1 security.”  (The entire estate has perimeter walls and electrified fencing, and has 24 hour security at the main entrance.)
Kok has on previous occasions said that the revival of Kalk Bay and its new status as False Bay’s most sophisticated and ‘in’ residential precinct have been spearheaded by The Majestic development.  He himself owns and lives in a two bedroom townhouse in the project and, he says, he has never enjoyed a home more.
Only five new units in The Majestic development are now available for sale but there are six resale units.  All residents enjoy the use of a private gymnasium and a communal pool and have secure basement parking.
The project is within easy distance of several of Kalk Bay’s very popular restaurants.
