Marriott International is investing R2 billion to develop three new hotels.
Tsogo Sun is building a new R680m, 500-room hotel.
An Investor Centre is to open in the city centre to house 11 governmental departments and prioritise investment related visa requirements.
An R832m expansion of the Cape Town International Convention Centre is expected to grow the 29.8% year-on-year arrivals of December 2016.
A R4m Southern Cape cycle route, the Cross Cape, will open this year, along with other niche tourism initiatives.
Cape Point, which attracted a record-breaking, one million tourists last year, will see a R34m upgrade to welcome people next year.
